Sono quasi finite le vacanze (almeno per me) e il blog non è più stato aggiornato, perchè ero sempre in spiaggia a prendere il sole.. ma ora che son tornato voglio subito ripartire con una nuova saga! Come ho iniziato il ballerina project con Giada, così oggi inizio il color project con Chiara!!

Cos’è il color project?

Il color project è un progetto in itinere.. cioè si aggiornerà pian piano, come il ballerina project.. ad ogni episodio mi concentrerò su un colore, quindi non aspettatevi un set con una serie infinita di foto.. ma per ogni episodio il risultato sarà una singola foto, incentrata su un singolo colore.. che oggi è il blu!

Qual è l’idea per questa prima foto del color project?

Blu.. non so a voi, ma a me fondamentalmente questo colore evoca l’acqua.. da qui l’idea di fare la foto lungo un fiume.. con Chiara ovviamente vestita di blu.. tuttavia come ben sapete per quanto l’acqua ci evochi il blu, non è così nella realtà, e il paesaggio intorno di solito è verde grazie alle piante circostanti.. ma se si sa cosa si fa, è possibile ottenere un blu prepotente già in fase di scatto senza andare a scomodare photoshop!

Vogliamo i dettagli tecnici!

Per ottenere il blu già in fase di scatto quando vi trovate all’esterno è sufficiente lavorare sul bilanciamento del bianco, e posizionarlo su tungsteno. Il mondo virerà magicamente verso il blu, restituendo cieli di un blu intenso, e paesaggi dalle tonalità azzurrine che fanno molto mondo fantastico..

Tuttavia se avete un soggetto umano nella foto, ovviamente virerà anch’esso verso il blu, con il risultato che sembrerà un puffo.. ma come risolveremo questo problema? con un flash ovviamente! il flash dovrà essere gellato CTO (color to orange), in maniera tale da scaldare la tonalità blu della pelle e riportarla al suo colore naturale!

Qui di seguito trovate una foto di backstage che mostra il sottoscritto con il treppiede per tenere la macchina fotografica ferma, dato che i tempi di esposizione erano dell’ordine di 1/15, e il mio soggetto che gentilmente si presta alle foto di prova.. :)[/it] [en]Hi guys!

Holidays are going to finish (almost for me) and the blog hasn’t been updated anymore, because I was always on the beach doing some sunbathing.. but now that I’ve come back I want to start immediatly with a new saga! As I started the ballerina project with Giada, so today I start the color project with Chiara!!

What is the color project?

The color project is an in itinere project.. i.e. it will update in a long time, as the ballerina project.. in every episode I will concentrate my attention on a color, so do not espect a set with a lot of photos.. for every episode there will be only one shot, with a well defined color as subject.. and today the color is blue!

Which is the idea for this first shot of the color project?

Blue.. for me blue evokes water.. here the idea to do the shot along a river.. with Chiara obviously blue dressed.. however as you well know, despite we think that water is blue, this is not the reality, and the around landscape is usually green for the presence of plants.. but if you know how to do it, you can obtain a great blue already during the shot without using photoshop!

We want the technical details!

In order to obtain blue already during the shot when you are outside it is sufficient to work on the white balance, and put it on tungsten. The world will magically turn to blue, giving us very blue skies, and landscapes with cold tones which remind fantastic worlds..

However if you have a human subject in the photo, obviously it will turn to blue, and the result is that he/she will seem a smurf.. how will we solve this problem? with a strobe obviously! the flash will be CTO gelled (color to orange), in order to warm the blue tones of the skin and return to its natural color!

Hereafter you can find a backstage shot which shows me with the tripod to hold the camera, given that the exposures times were of the order of 1/15, and my subject who gently poses for the first tries.. :)[/en]

[it]Come sempre per questi scatti mi viene in aiuto mia cugina Chiara, detta La Muwa, che mi ha dato una grossa mano e per un po’ ha anche agito da VAL (voice activated lightstand).. vi assicuro che è molto comodo non dover correre avanti e indietro per regolare potenza e parabola del flash ma farlo fare a una persona che vi aiuta e ve lo punta direttamente variando la posizione quando glielo chiedete.. grazie mille muwa! ^_^ [/it] [en]As always, my cousine Chiara, a.k.a. La Muwa, helps me to do these shots, and in this situation she was used also as a VAL (voice activated lightstand).. it is very useful to have an assistant who changes flash power and parabole and moves it on the position you want without going always to change one single parameter.. thanks a lot Chiara! ^_^ [/en]
