Oggi vi propongo una foto che ho realizzato un po’ di tempo fa e che penso possa essere utile per vedere qualcosa di nuovo.

La foto fa parte di un set fotografico che ho realizzato per un gruppo musicale di nome Nudamoro (lo so è un nome molto particolare, come particolare è la musica che realizzano). I due protagonisti hanno scelto come location per le foto un piccolo palazzo arredato in maniera veramente fine, con affiancamenti di arte moderna e antica scelti veramente con gusto.

Dopo alcune foto classiche dei due componenti c’era bisogno di una prima foto “folle”, che rappresentasse la stravaganza del duo. Avendo visto che in una delle sale c’era una spada, abbiamo deciso di fare una foto in cui ci fosse anche lei, e quindi avevo bisogno di una luce che la valorizzasse. Quando dovete far emergere dettagli fini, uno dei metodi migliori è quello di usare una luce dura, quindi un flash nudo, che proietti un’ombra netta e ben delineata. Io sono il primo che cerca di usare sempre ombrellini e softbox, ma a volte una luce dura può risultare vincente!

Today I propose a picture that I made a little time ago and that I think may be useful to see something new.

The photo is part of a photo set that I made for a music group named Nudamoro (I know it is a very special name, especially as it is the music that make). The two protagonists have chosen as the location for the photo a small palace decorated in a truly fine way, with mixing of modern and ancient art really chosen with taste.

After some classic photos of the two components I needed a first photo “crazy” to represent the extravagance of the duo. Having seen that in one of the rooms there was a sword, we decided to take a picture in which there was it too, and so I needed a light that would enhance it. When you need to bring out fine details, one of the best methods is to use a hard light, so a bare flash, which casts a shadow sharp and well defined. I am the first who always tries to use umbrellas and softbox, but sometimes a hard light can be successful!

[it]Ho quindi fatto sedere il primo dei due per terra di fronte ad un tavolino e per illuminarlo ho usato un softbox, che mi desse una luce morbida, ma al tempo stesso controllata (ovvero che non andasse da tutte le parti come quella di un ombrellino). Per illuminare invece il secondo soggetto ho utilizzato un flash nudo e crudo, che oltre a delineare perfettamente la sua ombra e l’ombra della spada, ha prodotto un simpatico effetto proiettando l’ombra della pianta secca presente sul tavolo. Questa pianta infatti, oltre a fungere da “corna” per il primo (cosa che lo divertiva molto), ha prodotto un’ombra sul muro in alto a destra con la forma come di tentacoli che avanzano ad attaccare lo spadaccino! Spettacolare secondo me 😀 Per fotografare il tutto ho usato la 650d con il 10-22, impostato a 10mm, ovvero via di distorsione estrema!

This plant fact, apart from acting as “horns” to the first (which amused him much), has produced a shadow on the wall at the top right with the shape of tentacles as they advance to attack the swordsman! Spectacular according to me 😀 To photograph everything I used the 650D with the 10-22, set at 10mm, because of extreme distortion!
