L’episodio della volta scorsa con le foto di Giada ha avuto molto successo e di ciò ne sono ovviamente felice 🙂

L’articolo di oggi vuole esplorare un aspetto che sta dietro ad ogni pubblicazione di un set fotografico.. ovvero la scelta delle foto da pubblicare. Spesso si scattano qualcosa come 200 o 300 foto per set, delle quali bisogna poi fare la cernita per scegliere le migliori. Mentre una volta ero solito pubblicare anche 15-20 foto per set, ultimamente ho cominciato a pensare che ne vada pubblicata solo una per situazione.. ovvero, presa la serie di scatti fatti tutti con la stessa luce e più o meno con la stessa posa, di questi solo uno sarà salvato, anche se magari anche gli altri sono belli. Questo perchè oramai ritengo che a colui che guarda le mie foto non importi vederne tante simili tra loro, bensì una sola per tipologia.. ma questa singola deve essere perfetta!

A volte la scelta è molto facile, dato che si hanno pochi scatti e solo in uno la posa e la luce sono perfette.. ma capita invece altre volte che la scelta sia molto ardua. Ciò si è verificato anche nel caso delle foto di Giada, ed in particolare nella foto in bianco e nero che in molti avete apprezzato. The last episode with the photos of Giada has had a lot of success, and I’m obviously happy with this.

Today’s article wants to explore an aspect which stays behind every photographer’s set.. i.e. the choice of the photos to publish. Often we shoot about 200-300 shots per set, among which it is necessary to choose the best ones. While once I was used to publish 15-20 photos per set, in the last times I started to think that only one shot for situation has to be published.. i.e., considered a series of shots with the same light and with the same posing, only one of these will be saved, even if also the others are nice. This because I think that the person who is watching at my photos is not interested in viewing a lot of similar shots, but only one for every tipology.. but this one must be perfect!

Sometimes the choice is very simple, given that one has only a few shots and only in one the posing and the light are perfet.. but sometimes instead it’s very hard. This happened also with the photos of Giada, and in particular with the black and white shot, which most of you appreciated. In all the ones we did two resulted particularly nice. [it]Un tempo probabilmente le avrei pubblicate entrambe, ma per come la penso ora ho dovuto fare una scelta. Nella 1 il drappeggio della gonna e la posizione dei piedi sono migliori (per la posizione dei piedi io non lo sapevo, ma Giada mi ha spiegato che avrebbe dovuto vedersi il tallone del piede sinistro.. cosa che nella 1 si vede un po’, mentre nella 2 è assente). Nella 2 i punti a favore sono invece la posizione più bassa del punto di vista e il fatto che la testa sia all’interno della parte nera dell’arco. Per quanto riguarda la posizione delle braccia a me piacciono molto entrambe, forse nella 2 sono leggermente più dinamiche, ma è una valutazione molto soggettiva.

Quindi, perchè ho scelto la 2? La scelta è stata molto travagliata, ma alla fine il punto di ripresa più basso (ero coricato per terra per fare la foto, mentre nella 1 ero solo inginocchiato), il fatto che Giada avesse lo sguardo rivolto verso l’osservatore e la sua testa fosse all’interno dell’arco, che peraltro occupa una porzione più grande che nella 1, hanno fatto sì che la scelta ricadesse sulla 2.

Mi piacerebbe sapere cosa ne pensate voi fotografi (e non!) che mi seguite.. secondo voi ho fatto la scelta giusta? Avreste privilegiato la foto 1? e in tal caso perchè?

E inoltre, cosa pensate a proposito della cernita delle foto? E’ capitato anche a voi di dover fare scelte simili? Se volete potete anche postare dei link con degli esempi per discuterne insieme!

Stefano[/it] [en]Sometimes ago probably I would have published them both, but for what I think now I had to make the choice. In the photo n. 1 the drapery of the skirt and the position of the feets are better (I didn’t know about the position of the feets, but Giada explained me that the heel of the left foot should have been visible.. in the n. 1 it is a little visible, but in the n. 2 it is absent). In the n. 2 instead the lower position of the shot and the fact that the head is inside the black part of the arc are better. About the position of the arms I love both, but perhaps in the n. 2 they are a little more dynamic, but it is very subjective.

So, why did I choose the n. 2? The choice has been very difficult, but at the end the lower point of view (I was on the ground to make the shot, while in the n. 1 I was only kneeling), the fact that Giada has the eyes towards the viewer and her head inside the arc, which is greater with respect to the photo n. 1, made me decide for the shot n. 2.

I would like what you photographers (and not!) think about this.. in your opinion I made the right decision? Would you have decided for n. 1? and why?

Furthermore, what do you think about the choice of the photos to publish? This fact happened also to you? If you want you can link with some examples to discuss about it togheter!
